ARLINGTON – Make no mistake about it: the Dallas Cowboys are in fight mode ahead of their Thanksgiving Day clash against the New York Giants .
After being on a five-game losing streak, the Cowboys managed to snap that against the Commanders in a 34-26 win at Northwest Stadium. But now another potential issue as arisen.
With the losing streak weighing heavily on the mind, now that this has been alleviated, Dallas could fall back into a false sense of security. But left guard Tyler Smith says that despite the win, the team’s mentality doesn’t change – and that especially applies to the idea of “tanking.”
“For us and a lot of the guys who spoke on it, we are playing for our season every week, week in and week out,” Smith said. “I’m really am playing for the dude next to me, the dude in this locker room who might not be in the same position as me, so what’s important now is winning.
“That’s what our focus is, that’s what we going to continue to do every single day, we’re going to attack it just like that.”
