Man arrested after breaking into family’s home with machete on Thanksgiving, Randolph County deputies say

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. – A man is facing multiple charges after he broke into a home with a machete on Thanksgiving, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office. On Thursday evening, deputies said they responded to a reported home invasion on Walt Brown Road. Officials said the 76-year-old caller reported that a man entered his back door armed with a machete. The caller said the suspect threatened him, his wife and his granddaughter. The family then barricaded themselves in another room while the suspect was inside the home.
