One week after suffering a health emergency during a sermon, Bishop T.D. Jakes provided an update to his congregation.
Jakes revealed that he underwent emergency surgery after collapsing during the service. He expressed gratitude for surviving and said, “We’re not planning a funeral.”
Despite not disclosing his diagnosis, Jakes said he avoided a stroke due to God’s intervention. He also thanked medical professionals for their expertise.
Jakes is currently recovering and following doctor’s orders to rest. He assured his followers that he is “in good spirits” and “in no pain.”
Jakes founded Potter’s House of Dallas, a megachurch with over 30,000 members, in 1996.
