- Tesla tells workers on Cybertruck line no ‘need to report to work’ for the next three days (newsbreak.com)
Tesla has temporarily halted production of its Cybertruck at its Austin factory.
Employees on the Cybertruck assembly line were notified to take three days off, from Tuesday to Thursday. They will still receive pay for those days.
Tesla has not disclosed the reason for the production pause.
Since late October, factory workers on the Cybertruck line have experienced inconsistent schedules, including being sent home or given additional tasks.
Some employees have expressed frustration with the schedule changes, noting a decrease in overtime opportunities.
Tesla began deliveries of the Cybertruck last year, but there are indications that demand may have waned.
The company previously reduced shifts for Cybertruck production workers in April, and some late reservation holders have reported receiving deliveries sooner than expected.
After pricing was announced, some reservation holders indicated they would not purchase the vehicle.
