On Monday, one day after a woman was run over and killed by a hit-and-run driver, Belleview Police Department officials said they’ve arrested the man they believe was behind the wheel of the vehicle.
Christian Patrick Parker was detained by Detective Mike Miley along with Cpl. Hunter Eckert on Monday at a southeast Marion County residence and taken to the BPD for questioning.
Parker declined to answer any questions. He was charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident involving death. He was transported to the Marion County Jail for booking. He was being held without bail, police officials said.
Looking for the car
Belleview police officials said they’re still looking for a 1998 black Lincoln Town Car (tag #BZ08FX), which they suspect is the vehicle that struck the victim, Ariel Hartford, 34, on Sunday afternoon.
Officers said the vehicle should have heavy front-end damage from the crash.
Parker is no stranger to law enforcement. Records show the 25-year-old had served time in prison for a number of offenses including aggravated assault, grand theft and occupied burglary. He was released from prison in May 2022.
