Warm Days Ahead: Santa Ana Winds and Dense Fog Encase Southern California

Southern California is in for above-normal temperatures this week, with highs peaking in the 70s and lower 80s on Friday and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Gusty Santa Ana winds are expected to develop Friday, lasting into early next week.

A dense fog advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday, with low clouds lingering along beaches south of Point Conception until midday. Offshore winds will bring clearer skies and rising temperatures, especially in valleys and coastal areas. Inland areas, however, may cool slightly due to cooler air streaming in.

The combination of dry conditions and low humidity, dropping to 8-15% by Saturday, has raised fire weather concerns, with elevated to brief critical fire risks across the region.
