One person was killed and his partner injured in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 that slowed traffic in one direction Friday night. The fatality was the third death since Wednesday.

Where exactly was the crash? Mile marker 372, roughly two miles south of the Alachua County line.
What time was the crash? Marion County Fire Rescue spokesman James Lucas said crews were assigned to the call at 6:04 p.m. and arrived at 6:12 p.m. The victim was pronounced deceased at 6:31 p.m.
Which agency is investigating the crash? Florida Highway Patrol.
What happened? Troopers said an older model Dodge Dakota pickup truck driven by a man was traveling northbound on the highway in the outside lane. FHP officials said for an unknown reason, the man lost control of the truck and veered left.
The vehicle struck the guardrail twice then overturned. The man died, while his passenger, a woman, was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville in serious condition.
