Patrol officers in Plano, Texas, put their instincts to work last Friday when they were alerted to a stolen Kia in their area and later thwarted a potential series of car thefts. The chain of events unfolded on November 30 when a complainant signaled that her husband’s car alarm had gone off due to an attempted theft, which officers connected to the initial stolen Kia report. The suspects fled in the same vehicle, linking the two incidents. Officer Sadler, drawing on his experience with similar crimes and aware of a disturbing trend among juveniles known as the “Kia Boyz,” predicted the thieves would continue their spree nearby, according to the Plano Texas Police Department’s social media post.
