A series of weather disturbances will bring rain and cooler temperatures to central North Carolina starting tonight. As high pressure moves offshore, a shortwave system will spread light rain across the Piedmont and Sandhills after 2 AM, reaching the Triangle by early morning. Expect up to a third of an inch of rain, especially in the Triad. Rain chances will continue Monday, with high chances across the north, tapering off by noon. A brief break is expected Tuesday, but temperatures will warm up, reaching the 60s to low 70s by afternoon. Stay tuned for more updates as this system moves through.
