Christmas at the Station returns to Lake Shore Railway Museum

Many people choose to decorate the bottom of their Christmas tree with a model train, but for one museum, this Christmas’s trains are much bigger.

Sunday at the Lake Shore Railway Museum in North East, people celebrated the holidays a little early with the museum’s Christmas at the Station.

Gem City Flea Market returns to benefit Companion Animal Coalition

Anyone was invited to take a ride on the station’s speeder cars, send a telegram to santa, or enjoy a lunch in the train dining car.

The Lake Shore Railway’s president said the region has a deep history with locomotives and it’s important to preserve that history.

“Everybody’s got a car, but you know, cars weren’t always around. This country was built on trains, and Erie, Pennsylvania too. We had two locomotive builders, we’re down to just the Wabtec, the former GE now, but we built steam locomotives here,” said Ray Grabowski, Lake Shore Railway’s president & treasurer
