Erie police accuse a city man of inflicting serious head injuries on his 2-year-old son in early September.
Detectives accuse the man and the boy’s biological mother of failing to get immediate medical attention for the child, and of similarly failing to provide medical care when the child suffered an earlier head injury, according to information in criminal complaints filed in the case.
Matthew E. Engle, 27, was arraigned Sunday night on felony counts of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children and on misdemeanor counts of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person in the two incidents, which investigators said happened on Aug. 27 and Sept. 4. Engle’s bond was set at $50,000, according to court records.
Megan R. Bokros, 26, was arraigned Monday morning on felony counts of endangering the welfare of children. Her bond was set at $5,000, according to court records.
Lawyers for Engle and Bokros were not listed on their criminal docket sheets Monday.
