Health insurance nonprofit UCare has closed its corporate offices in Minneapolis and Duluth following a “concerning comment” on Friday.
UCare spokesperson Wendy Wicks said the company received a “concerning comment” late Friday evening. Details of the comment have not been shared.
It comes as health insurers tighten security following the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we decided to close our offices for a week,” Wick said. “Employees will work from home as UCare takes every precaution to protect our team.”
Wick said that while they are unaware of any threat to its offices or team, the police were notified of the call.
Police have continued searching for the shooter, and as of Monday morning, it’s being reported they are questioning a man in Pennsylvania.
