The Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority (EMTA) is back to functioning at about 100% after being forced to shut down for a few days during last week’s snowstorm.
All routes are available for riders to use but some have a few minor detours.
EMTA officials are asking riders to give the buses enough space to stop and to stay out of the streets.
Drivers go through winter training every year to keep pedestrians, passengers and other drivers safe throughout the season.

“EMTA is a flag stop system, so each corner that’s deemed safe is a bus stop. But in times when there’s a massive amount of snow, once where there was normal bus stops may not be considered a safe stop because sidewalks and corners have been plowed in. Until we can get those cleared, they wouldn’t be deemed safe,” said Jeremy Peterson, EMTA’s CEO.
