Corry man accused of fatally shooting his son waives charges to court

A Corry man facing homicide charges after police said he shot and killed his son back in August has waived his charges to court.

According to court paperwork, 72-year-old Gary Hulihan waived both his preliminary hearing and charges to court before a Corry area judge on Tuesday.

Hulihan is facing felony counts of criminal homicide, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, and aggravated assault for his alleged role in the death of his 48-year-old son.

State police said Hulihan shot his son in the abdomen after a verbal and physical confrontation.

The shooting happened in the 12000 block of Carter Hill Road in Wayne Township.

Afterward, police said Hulihan drove the victim to Corry Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Hulihan has been out of prison after posting bail since September 26 according to court documents.
