Record amount of meth seized by Wisconsin drug task force after months-long investigation

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WFRV) – Three people were arrested after authorities in western Wisconsin seized a record amount of methamphetamine, valued at over $360,000, after a months-long investigation.

According to the Eau Claire Police Department , the West Central Drug Task Force wrapped up an investigation into a drug trafficking operation in August that began in June, leading to the seizure of nearly 10 pounds of methamphetamine within Eau Claire.

Officers say that the amount of meth is estimated to have a street value of over $360,000.

As a result of the investigation, three people were taken into custody and indicted on federal charges. Those include:

  • Xa Xiong, 31, of St. Paul
  • May Xue Kong, 41, of Eau Claire
  • John Soung, 47, of Eau Claire

The West Central Drug Task Force is made up of law enforcement representatives from six Wisconsin counties stretching from the Mississippi River to the middle of the state.
