A historic snowstorm dropped several feet of snow across the Erie region, and now that snow is melting, it’s creating new problems for homes in the region.
But local companies like Erie Restoration have been working through the snow to fix those problems.
“We’ve been quite busy, and our guys have done a fantastic job as far as keeping up with it,” said Gary Oehling, president of Erie Restoration. “It’s nice being able to help people, but it’s been unfortunate that some people have suffered some fairly catastrophic damages.”
Oehling said this has been a rare storm in terms of making repairs, saying the damages have followed three phases with changes in the weather.
Erie Co. residents encouraged to take preventative measures to avoid roof collapse
“Initially, we had the snow build up and roofs collapsing, doing a lot of clearing of snow off of roofs and dealing with the water damage from those collapses,” said Oehling.
However rapid cooling and warming have created other issues for Erie Restoration to fix in phase two.
