MONROE — Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough announced in a release that deputies arrested the suspect in a recent breaking and entering incident on Monday, Dec. 9.
On Thursday, Dec. 5, deputies responded to an alarm at the Flat Rock Gold and Silver Exchange on North Telegraph Road in Berlin Township. Upon arrival, they discovered the front door glass shattered and several items stole from the business.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau took on the case, reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses, which help identify a suspect. Their efforts led to the identification of a 27-year-old man from Flat Rock.
On Monday, detectives located the suspect in the City of Monroe, where he was arrested. During the arrest, stolen property from the break-in was recovered. As of Dec. 10, the suspect is being held at the Monroe County Jail and awaiting formal charges from the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office.
