13 FIRST ALERT: Messy start to the weekend with tricky travel likely

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – It’s a good day to have the 13 First Alert weather app on hand as a storm system tracks south of the state, bringing a variety of wintry precipitation to Western Wisconsin with slick travel expected as a result. Temperatures warmed into the low 20s overnight and will continue climbing to around freezing today. Periods of snow and freezing rain are likely, though potential dry air entraining into the system may delay the onset of precipitation or keep various spots dry. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for all of Western Wisconsin through tonight. In addition to the messy weather, winds are expected to pick up from the east-southeast.
