Male found dead of gunshot wound in Little Village alley may have been in vehicle that crashed, police say

CHICAGO — A male was found dead in a Little Village alley on the city’s Southwest Side with a gunshot wound to the back late Saturday night, according to police.

Chicago police say the male, who has not been identified, was found by officers just after 10 p.m. in the 3100 block of West Cermak Road and pronounced dead at the scene. Further investigation revealed that a green SUV that had hit an unoccupied parked vehicle was near the victim, according to police.

Police say the victim may have been inside the green SUV that crashed prior to being found by officers.

Nobody is in custody, police say, and Area Four detectives continue to investigate.
