Bay Area getting drier, sunnier weather; rain to return Monday

First Alert Weather Sunday morning forecast 03:28

The Bay Area can expect mostly sunny to cloudy skies during the day on Sunday, but there will be more rain early Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Daytime highs will be mostly in the high 50s to low 60s on the coast, low to high 50s around the bay, and in the low 50s to high 60s inland.

There is a frost advisory in effect across the area until 9:00 a.m. and flood advisories remain in effect near Santa Rosa and the Bayshore coast until noon. A coastal flood advisory for tidal flooding in low-lying areas along the San Francisco and San Pablo bays remains in effect until Monday.

Overnight lows will be mostly in the high 30s to mid 40s. The North Bay and potentially San Francisco and the peninsula will be seeing rain during the early commute hours, around 8 a.m.

The heaviest rain likely will be about 10 or 11:00 a.m. By noon the heaviest rain will have headed east, but there could still be a few more isolated, scattered showers throughout the afternoon, especially across the more North Bay and Inland East Bay communities.
