Packed classrooms and new schools led the Vallivue School District Board of Trustees to approve new boundaries to accommodate the district’s booming population growth.
Trustees unanimously approved the proposed boundaries at Tuesday’s board meeting. The new boundaries will impact some students and families, who will see their assigned school in the district change.
It also comes after VSD began constructing two new elementary schools, Falcon Ridge Elementary and Warhawk Elementary. Falcon Ridge will be located behind Vallivue Middle School in southern Caldwell. Warhawk Elementary will be built near Ridgevue High School in northern Nampa.
While neighboring districts have seen substantial declines in their enrollment, Vallivue has seen substantial growth. From 2014 to 2024, Vallivue gained 2,328 students, growing its student population by 30.8%, according to state historical enrollment figures. This past year, the district achieved a total enrollment of over 10,000 students.
Meanwhile, the Caldwell School District‘s enrollment shrunk by 14% over the past decade and Nampa School District’s went down by 12%.
