The final 2024 values of Lucas County properties are now listed on the Auditor’s Real Estate Information System.
After being approved by the state tax commission, the property values can be found at AREIS online at icare.co.lucas.oh.us . They will also be mailed to property owners.
“One of my cardinal values as an elected official is transparency,” Lucas County Auditor Katie Moline said in a statement. Although sending out property value notices is not required, all residents who filed an informal property value review last fall will receive mailed notices, she said.
If property owners disagree with the final property value, they can file a challenge with the Lucas County Board of Revision. The complaint must be filed between Jan.1 and March 31.
The result of the challenge will not alter property taxes, which are determined by municipalities and voters, not on a dollar-for-dollar basis. Several levies passed in the March and November elections, including four that will increase property taxes across the county.
