Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson has fulfilled a lifelong dream by making a Broadway debut. She appeared in the romantic comedy musical “& Juliet,” becoming the first Supreme Court Justice to grace the Broadway stage.
Jackson performed in a one-night-only cameo role, capturing the attention of the audience. She was introduced by cast members and took her bows to thunderous applause.
The Justice has long expressed her love of theater, even singing lines from musicals during her book tour. In her Harvard application, she wrote of her desire to become the first Black, female Supreme Court Justice to appear on Broadway.
Jackson’s passion for the arts extends beyond the legal realm. Former justices Antonin Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg shared a love for opera, and Ginsburg made her own Broadway debut at the age of 83.
