Pensacola man accused of stealing thousands in merchandise from Walmart

FAIRHOPE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A Pensacola man was arrested in Fairhope after police said he stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from area Walmart stores.

Fairhope Police Department officials identified the man as 67-year-old Harold Mahan.

According to police, Mahan was arrested Monday afternoon after he was reported to have taken merchandise from a Walmart location in Fairhope.

“Mahan is reported to have taken nearly $4,000 worth of items from the store in Fairhope in the last few weeks,” a department news release said.

In addition to being accused of stealing from the Fairhope location, officials said Mahan has stolen from other Walmart locations across Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida.

“He has stolen over $20,000 in merchandise from Walmart stores,” police said.

Mahan was charged with first-degree retail theft and third-degree property theft, officials said.
