Erie Water Works announced a section of Pittsburgh Avenue will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 17 after a water main broke on the street Sunday night.
Pittsburgh Avenue will be closed between West 23rd Street and West 32nd Street from 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 until 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18 while crews repair the road.
Erie Water Works officials said repairs have been made to the broken main and all that’s left is to repair the damage to the road.
CEO Craig Palmer said the break was an isolated incident with recent temperature changes and the age of the pipe helped cause the pipe, initially installed in 1955, to break.
Anyone still experiencing issues can contact Erie Water Works at 814-870-8000 ext. 71 or online here.
