Volunteer tutors are needed for the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library’s Adult Literacy program. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and master the English language. They must participate in orientation and training sessions.
Volunteers must also be willing to be fingerprinted and make a commitment to tutor three hours a week for at least six months.
The volunteers will lead one-on-one tutoring sessions at their local library. Tutoring materials are provided by the library. The Adult Literacy program has publicized the need for tutors in Stockton, Tracy and Manteca.
The Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library also has an English Conversation Club for those learning English. Future meetings of the club can be found on the library’s calendar of events.
