Svetlana Dali, a Russian national, was arrested for the second time in December after previously being caught stowing away on a flight to France.
Dali cut off her ankle monitor and attempted to flee into Canada. She was apprehended in Buffalo while attempting to cross the border on a Greyhound bus.
Dali was wanted on a warrant for bail jumping after initially being arrested on November 26th for traveling without proper documentation. She had boarded a Delta flight without a passport and was returned to the US.
According to French authorities, Dali was denied entry into France due to a lack of valid travel documents. Her attempt to enter Canada illegally marks a second attempt to leave the country since her initial arrest.
Dali is scheduled to appear in court before a federal magistrate. The investigation is ongoing.
