If you are a Floridian, you may be aware that, over the last several months, Publix has bought out some of its landlords in some of Florida’s shopping centers. Specifically, I’ve written about Publix buying out The Ramblewood Square Shopping Center in Coral Springs for $59 million, the Davie Shopping Center and Regency Square at Broward for $83 million, and Kissimmee’s Town Center at Orange Lake for $16.65 million. And now Publix has done it again in South Florida.
The Biscayne Boulevard Shopping Center: A company out of Atlanta sold properties at 12700, 12864, and 13000 Biscayne Boulevard. to Real Sub LLC, owned by Publix, for $40 million.
The 90,188-square-foot retail plaza is anchored by a Publix but also has a Wells Fargo Bank bank and a restaurant leased to McDonald’s.
The Publix anchor in question, at 12800 Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami, is popular and earns high marks. It has been reviewed over 2,300 times and gets 4.5 out of 5 stars on Google reviews. A reviewer named Bill had a typical good review, writing:
