Isaac Wilson decides to return to Utah

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 Sports) – Upon second thought, Isaac Wilson is returning to Utah.

Eight days after announcing he was entering the transfer portal, Wilson announced that he is returning to Utah, where will compete for the starting quarterback job with New Mexico transfer Devon Dampier.

Wilson wrote on X, “Utah man am I!!! Let’s run it back.”

As a freshman, Wilson threw for 1,510 yards and 10 touchdowns, starting seven games in place of injured starter Cam Rising.

The original plan was to have Wilson learn behind Rising, but after Rising suffered injuries against Baylor and Arizona State, Wilson was thrown into the fire.
