CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Doctors in Mecklenburg County are heeding warnings of rising pneumonia cases, echoed by Mecklenburg County Public Health. It aligns with the nationwide trend, as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported more cases than this time last year. Dr. Sumon Bhowmick, a pediatrician with Novant Health, says colder temperatures and indoor gatherings almost always lead to an increase in sneezes and sniffles.
