A West Virginia woman was arrested and charged after a traffic stop.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says they observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation while traveling on State Route 7 and conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Tower Road, Belpre Township.
Officers say they identified the driver as Amber Gregory, 41 of Wheeling, WV. Officers say Gregory was traveling to Parkersburg, WV, from Wheeling, WV.
A K9 was used to conduct a free air sniff on the vehicle which gave a positive indication on the rear passenger door, according to officials.
Officials then searched the vehicle and said they found a GoMart cup containing a dark liquid. Also in the bottom of the cup was a foreign object containing a white powdery substance.
The Sheriff’s Office said Gregory did not want to speak to officers after advising her of her Miranda Rights.
Gregory was placed under arrest and charged with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, possession of fentanyl, and trafficking in fentanyl, both 1 st degree felonies.
