Making the holidays bright for seniors was the lesson for some youngsters Tuesday evening.
A group of students from Belle Valley Elementary performed Christmas carols and handed out bags of gifts.

It was part of their Adopt a Grandparent program, where, as part of their class assignment, they made cards and collected money for gifts.

The vice principal of the school spoke about how the kids responded to the goal.
“They gave up their recess, they gave up their lunch, they’ve just been so great, and they come and say ‘Mrs. Law, what do you need help with, what can we do today, what bag can I carry?’ They were just amazing through this whole endeavor,” said Sheri Law, assistant principal at Belle Valley Elementary.
LECOM’s recreation manager said the residents there were thrilled to see the children today.
