Man fatally struck working on disabled car after pulling over on Queens expressway

A 65-year-old man was fatally struck early Wednesday as he worked on his disabled car after pulling over on a Queens expressway , police said.

The victim pulled over on the westbound side of the Long Island Expressway near the entrance to the Clearview Expressway in Bayside about 5 a.m., cops said.

He was working under the hood when the driver of a passing flatbed truck clipped the rear of the stalled vehicle.

The impact sent the car hurtling into its owner, cops said.

The victim died at the scene. His name was not immediately released.

The 60-year-old driver of the flatbed truck remained at the scene.

No charges were immediately filed.

Cops temporarily shut down the westbound lanes of the LIE as they conducted their investigation.
