The lawsuit pitting State Senator Dan Laughlin against a local newspaper has been settled.
Laughlin sued the Erie Reader and Jim Wertz, claiming libel in connection with an opinion piece about efforts to overthrow the 2020 election.
According to the Erie Times News , the settlement involves no money. The Erie Reader does not have to retract or alter the story but does have to mark it as an opinion piece.
Laughlin defeated Wertz last month, winning a third term.
