TWINSBURG, Ohio (WJW) – One of the great holiday traditions in Twinsburg is residents showing their gratitude for the hard work of garbage collectors and other service workers by leaving them gift cards or cash on collection day.
“We just feel that it’s the right time of year. We appreciate the service and the hard work and, you know, a little bit goes a long way and it makes us feel good.” said Twinsburg resident Drew Dallet.
Dallet says he saw a pickup truck stop by his garbage cans on Tuesday and then watched as the driver grabbed the gift cards that the Dallet family left for their collectors.
“I was like ‘I think somebody just stole our cards’ and then he slipped away into the condos, which are right over here, and I just got in my car and went after him,” he said.

Dallet used his car to block the suspect’s truck on a nearby street and began taking photos. He then got out and confronted the driver about taking the gift cards.
