Cajun-style fried chicken is on the menu in Phoenix after a Chandler restaurant opened a second location.
The big picture: Louisiana Fried Chicken and Wings opened on Indian School Road near 27th Avenue last month.
- Its original location is at Arizona Avenue and Ray Road.
State of play: I couldn’t uncover much about the history of this potential chain-in-the-making, whose sign and website say they’ve been around “since 1976.”
- Their Facebook page dates to late 2017, and their first Yelp review is from January 2018.
- I reached out via email and Facebook, but haven’t heard back.
Zoom in: Without anything else to go on, I’ll let Louisiana Fried Chicken and Wings’ menu speak for itself. And boy does it say a lot.
- That the menu is heavy on fried chicken and wings is a given, but there’s so much more.
- You can get other Bayou treats, like gumbo, dirty rice, fried okra and red beans and rice. But there are also egg rolls, fried rice, coconut shrimp and mozzarella sticks.
Best bites: If fried chicken is the specialty, that’s what I’m going for. I got a three-piece meal with a side of red beans and rice, and since we’re talking about Cajun food, I added some gumbo to my order.
