An Army National Guard solder charged with murder at Fort Eisenhower has been ordered to remain in custody.
Natravien Landry, 25, of Abbeville, La., will be detained until further court proceedings, U.S. District Court Brian K Epps ruled Wednesday, according to the U.S. Department of Justice’s Southern District of Georgia, which includes Augusta.
Authorities allege that on Dec. 14, Landry visited a woman living in post housing with whom he shared a child. There, he assaulted and fatally shot U.S. Army Reservist Sgt. Andre S. Stewart Jr., attached to the 400th Military Police Brigade in Fort Meade, Md.
Landry’s preliminary hearing before Judge Epps is scheduled for 2 p.m. Dec. 23.
