New Lane County deflection program is receiving referrals for those facing low-level charges

EUGENE, Ore. – A new deflection program is active in Lane County and starting to receive referrals, according to county officials. So far, more than 30 people have been referred since the program began in October as part of Oregon’s reform of Measure 110. People facing low-level charges that affect quality of life in the community may be offered treatment for substance use disorders instead of arrest.
