LUBBOCK, Texas — Three Trinity Christian senior cheerleaders were selected to perform at the Army Bowl in North Texas on Saturday.

Trinity Christian cheer coach, Tara Buxkemper said the seniors whom she’s had since they were all in 7th grade, are excited to put their tumbling skills to the test.

When was the last time Lubbock had a ‘White Christmas?’

Mikaela Pierce, Remi King and Emma Claire Womble, will join 60 other Texas cheerleaders. Six other cheerleaders from the Lubbock-area were also selected to be part of the U.S. Army Bowl.

The other cheerleaders in the Lubbock-area selected are Alison Abston and Kamryn Fortner from Frenship High School, Tierni Green from Lubbock-Cooper High School, and Zoe Clay, Chloe Clay and Kendal Franco from New Home.

Buxkemper expressed to EverythingLubbock.com how awesome it was that the girls were selected, adding that participants must have certain tumbling skills to be able to try out for the U.S. Army Bowl.

“We’re never had our cheerleaders go before so it’s awesome that Trinity Christian is getting that representation,” Buxkemper said. She added that it was a big stepping stone for the private school’s program, underscoring the positive growth.
