CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – A cold front has moved through the area this morning bringing a few showers and signaling the end of the near record warmth we’ve enjoyed the past couple days. Patchy clouds will give way to a mostly cloudy sky today. A spotty shower or drizzle can’t be ruled out as the temperatures begin to cool. Highs today will be in the upper 60s, about 10° cooler than yesterday. It will be a cooler night ahead with lows dropping into the mid to upper 40s. Morning clouds will give way to sunshine Friday afternoon with highs expected to reach the mid 60s. A second cold front will come through the area Friday night bringing a bigger drop in temps for the weekend. High temperatures on Saturday will only reach the mid 50s with upper 40s expected Sunday. Morning lows will fall back into the 30s Saturday morning with most areas below freezing by Sunday morning. The coldest morning will be Monday when temperatures are expected to bottom out in the 20s inland with low 30s at the beaches. Temperatures look like they’ll begin to warm back up by Christmas Eve, near 60°, and Christmas Day, mid 60s. The warm up may come with some clouds and a couple showers.
