RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A Raleigh man is facing a felony charge after he crashed his motorcycle during a pursuit in Wake County Tuesday afternoon, deputies said.
According to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Interstate 40 near US 1 for a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed. A warrant shows the suspect was traveling 120 m.p.h. in a 60-65 m.p.h. zone.
The motorcyclist did not stop and led deputies on a pursuit that went through Brier Creek Parkway and Arnold Palmer Drive. The pursuit ended when the motorcyclist lost control and crashed. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Deputies identified the motorcyclist as 25-year-old Jose Andres Class-Rodriguez. He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the warrant, Class-Rodriguez is charged with:
- Fleeing/eluding arrest with a motor vehicle (felony)
- Aggressive driving (misdemeanor)
- Speeding (misdemeanor)
- No motorcycle endorsement (misdemeanor)
