After a department-wide restructure, Marietta Police Chief David Beam announced changes to command staff.
Among the changes coming to how the leadership at MPD is organized, Beam said MPD Major Jake King was promoted to a third deputy chief position, with approval of the Marietta City Council.
According to the department, the changes to leadership structure were made to meet growing needs of both the department and City of Marietta, while also enhancing training opportunities, increasing the organization’s performance and expanding programs that serve the Marietta community.
