Employee killed while working at Siemens Energy in Charlotte, investigation underway

CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — An employee at a local Charlotte energy company was killed this week while on the job, officials confirm to Queen City News.

The deadly accident happened Wednesday, Dec. 18, around 5 p.m. at the Siemens Energy production facility along Westinghouse Blvd in Charlotte.

Medic was called and pronounced the person deceased at the scene.

Siemens Energy confirmed the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is conducting an investigation. The North Carolina Department of Labor – Occupational Safety and Health Division has also been notified of the incident.

Siemens Energy released the following statement to Queen City News.

We are deeply saddened that we lost a member of the Siemens Energy family at our facility in Charlotte, NC on the evening of December 18, 2024. We are in touch with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department as well as the employee’s family.
