Minimum wage in Virginia to increase Jan. 1

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – The minimum wage in Virginia is set to increase on Jan. 1, 2025, rising from the current hourly wage of $12 to $12.41 per hour. The Minimum Wage Act in Virginia was passed in 2020, which gradually increases the minimum wage in response to inflation. In 2021, the minimum wage increased from $7.25 to $9.50 an hour. The latest increase in 2023 took the minimum wage from $11 an hour to $12 an hour.
