San Jose police arrest four suspects in city’s 24th homicide of 2024

SAN JOSE, California ( MyCaliforniaNews ) — San Jose police have arrested four suspects, including two juveniles, in connection with the city’s 24th homicide of the year. The arrests follow the fatal shooting of an adult male on September 27, 2024.On that date, at approximately 12:01 a.m., San Jose Police Department patrol officers responded to a report of a person shot near Townsend Avenue and Park Entrance Drive. Upon arrival, they found an adult male victim with at least one gunshot wound, who was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, according to a press release from the department.The San Jose Police Department Homicide Unit launched an investigation, identifying 19-year-old Levi Padilla and 19-year-old Jasiah Eti, both of San Jose, California, along with two juvenile males, as the primary suspects. Arrest warrants were obtained, and on December 11, 2024, with assistance from the SJPD Covert Response Unit and MERGE Unit, the suspects were located and taken into custody in San Jose.The adult suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail, while the juvenile suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall. The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, stated the source.The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
