The Erie region has mostly recovered from what’s being called Snowmageddon 2024 but all that snow and all that work came at a cost.
The City of Erie has announced the price that was paid to battle the storm and clear Erie roads.
During Wednesday night’s Erie City Council meeting, the council revealed that the city spent almost $317,000 combating the elements.
The council then voted to approve the spending of those dollars.

“It’s a lot of money, but there was a lot that had to be done because so much snow fell. I’ve lived in Erie all of my life and I’ve never seen so much snow in such a short period of time and what it created,” said City of Erie Mayor Joe Schember.
Despite the large number, Mayor Schember said that money was already accounted for in the budget and that it doesn’t have any negative effect on the city’s finances.
