CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A Charlotte man accused of helping a double murder suspect will not spend any additional time behind bars, a judge ruled on Thursday.
On December 19, Jamall Porterfield, 31, pleaded guilty to felony obstruction of justice as part of a plea deal that would dismiss two counts of felony accessory after the fact.
Prosecutors say Porterfield helped Xaveon Dunn get away from where Dondrake Blackmoore and Jakailah Jackson were found murdered in October 2020. Porterfield also allegedly took a gun from Dunn’s home after police searched the residence and got rid of the weapon.
He was later arrested in West Virginia and posted bond. However, Porterfield landed in hot water with authorities when he reportedly missed a June 2023 court hearing , and an order for his arrest was issued.
