Shakopee man sentenced for role in Morton drug death

(Morton MN-) A Shakopee man pleaded guilty earlier this month to helping set up a drug deal that killed a woman in Morton last year. The woman died of fentanyl toxicity October 23rd 2023, and 28-year-old Joshua Hill was charged with Aiding and Abetting 3rd Degree Murder. Hill pleaded guilty December 5th, and was sentenced to 60 months in prison. He was given credit for 263 days he served in jail after his arrest. Hill was also sentenced to 52 months in prison for selling opioids to fellow inmates while in the Renville County Jail. He will serve the 52 months at the same time he is serving the 60 months for the Aiding and Abetting 3rd Degree Murder conviction.
