Desmond Emery and Jonathan Rush, both 21, were charged with first-degree murder.

Grandberry, a local hairstylist, was known by many in the community. Daffaney Lee worked with Grandberry at a salon called Stitches several years ago. She said they stayed in touch, and she was shocked to learn she had been killed.

“It’s just horrible regardless if they were trying to carjack them or mistakingly got the wrong car, said Lee. “I just heard they were shot up,” “I didn’t hear anything else from family or people who are close to her that had more information.”

Lee said Grandberry, who was in her early fifties, was known by her friends as ‘Peddie.’ She said she was a force to be reckoned with when it came to doing hair and was always willing to help others.
