Myon Burrell, freed from a life sentence in 2020, heading back to prison

MINNEAPOLIS – Myon Burrell, the man released from a life sentence following a highly publicized case in 2020, will be returning to prison. On Thursday, a judge sentenced Burrell to a mandatory five-year prison term for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Burrell was arrested and charged after a 2023 traffic stop where Robbinsdale police found a loaded handgun and drugs in his car.
